The term “Kundalini” comes from the Sanskrit word “kundal,” meaning “circular,” and also refers to a coiled snake. This energy, like the coiled snake, lies dormant until activated. Kundalini yoga, often referred to as “the yoga of awareness,” focuses on awakening this energy and channelling it through the chakras to enhance spiritual, mental and emotional well-being.
Consult your doctor before practising Kundalini yoga if you are pregnant or have respiratory issues, injuries, joint pain or balance problems.
